Low Calorie Berry Smoothie

With the warm weather (sort of) coming, I've been craving smoothies like no other.  I started experimenting yesterday with the ingredients I already had on hand and this is what I came up with...

(Keep in mind, I was trying to make it low calorie.  I resisted the temptation of throwing in peanut butter, M&Ms, leftover DQ cake, and chocolate syrup even though they were also things I had on hand and they were so desperately calling my name)

The honey helped to sweeten it up, I didn't use it to begin with but the Greek yogurt stuck out a little bit too much for me.

I just threw all my ingredients into the blender, put it on the smoothie setting, and blended it for about 30-45 seconds to get it the perfect consistency.

Enjoy!

Spring Staycation

Keeping with the Spring theme, I've put together a Spring Staycation checklist.  We've picked the worst year to not go on a vacation.  Let's just say it was 80 degrees at this time last year and it's 10 degrees today. What. The. Eff.  But it is what it is and I will make the most of it (and pretend I'm laying on a white sandy beach) with a little Staycation!

Spring Fever

Every year I get this crazy, restless, feeling right around this time.  We usually have a vacation planned for end of March so I make it through but not this year. Oh well, March is a busy and fun month for us so it's all good, 7 inches of snow and all, and probably some umbrella drinks to make myself feel like I'm on vacation.   In honor of my Spring fever, below are a few of my favorites for the upcoming season (in 13 days, yo).

Victoria's Secret Baseball Shirts- Light and comfortable, perfect for Spring weather.
Essie Turquoise Caicos Nail Polish- Get out of those dark nail polish colors and into this little gem
Fruit Infuser Water Bottle- I drink a hell of a lot more water now that I have this.  Easy flavored water at home with zero cals, bam!
Owl Canister Set- Just picture walking into your kitchen in the morning and seeing these cute little faces, and awesome colors
Sweet Pea Wall Flowers-Sweet Pea has always been one of my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works, and it gets me in the warm weather mood (who am I kiddin', I'm always in the warm weather mood)
Green Vest- The weather doesn't look too promising for St. Patrick's Day so I figured I'd need something a little warmer while walking the streets of St. Paul and drinking green beer.
Caribbean Escape-B&BW candles never fail me. Their wide range of scents are amazing, it is always so hard to decide which to choose!

Happy Thursday!

These boots were made for walkin'...

...and splashing through puddles, and frolicking in the snow...

I have a recent obsession with BOOTS.  They have made my life so much easier.  No more wet pant legs and when Bella decides to go off roading to find the perfect spot to relieve herself I can now follow after her instead of reeeeeaching as far as possible with the leash in an effort to keep my feet dry.

The loves of my life...
Winter Boots

Rain Boots

Side note: I typically would never spend the amount either of these cost BUT I told myself they're good investments.  They are, Right? RIGHT?!  They will last awhile...:)

And I'm so sad to say my FAVORITE pair of boots, my riding boots, are no longer available ANYWHERE!  I so badly wanted to share them with you but I'll refrain from taunting you with their cuteness.  I will say though, they're Bare Traps and so comfortable. I wear them all over town, I've literally walked miles in them.  I'm sure the other boots they have are just as bad ass.

Happy boot buyin'!

Baby Shower Brunch

Two of my friends and I hosted a baby shower for our dear friend, Alison over the weekend.  Below are the pictures I was able to capture...

First...the INVITES!  This was the hardest decision I had to make, I was able to get my top picks down to three, I then sent them to the other hosts so they could pick their favorite .  Good thing we all agreed or I would have been back to square one and creating an evite...:)

Find them HERE (shout out to the designer-she was amazing to work with!)
Cupcake toppers-Favor Boxes-Favor Tags
Game prizes: Bakers twine, tissue paper, and printed tags
And then there was the champagne...I think it was trying to tell us we didn't need mimosas.  We weren't going to give up though, what's a baby shower brunch without mimosas beverages?
Visiting with friends and the mama to be with her presents (and T-Swift)
The ladies hanging my home made banner, Rachel and mama to be, and Norman the St. Bernard puppy (I couldn't resist)

And finally...
Monkey Bread Recipe
(Everyone raves about it, it is the shit.  It's even easy enough for those early mornings where you aren't quite functioning yet and haven't had your coffee yet..)

Who wants to celebrate?

 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, BUTTERCUPS!

Oh, how I love holidays.  I love the special meaning behind every holiday but I also just love to CELEBRATE things. Birthdays, holidays, my favorite wine being on sale, you name it I celebrate it.  What was that?  Your birthday is in exactly 5 months?  Lets celebrate!

Just a few pictures of my V-Day so far...

Beautiful park nearby us

I am lovin' the bakers twine lately.  Everything is getting wrapped with it; baby shower prizes, favors, Bella, presents.

Yes, yes you are.
