Bachelorette Party!

Last weekend two of my friends and I threw our good friend Becky a shower/bachelorette party.  We started the night with your typical bridal shower happenings-food, drinks, games, and gift opening.  After the bridal shower was over we moved the party downstairs where the night was about go from PG to R!  Becky opened her bachelorette themed gifts complete with breaks for jello shots and then we played a game of pin the *beep* on the hunk.  We then headed to downtown Stillwater for bar hopping and more party shenanigans.  It was SO fun for everyone to let loose and to have a good portion of our girlfriends together and having way too much fun, if that's even possible.  I wish I would have taken more pictures of the bridal shower but let's be honest, the bachelorette party pictures is where it's really at!

Bring on Fall!

Tonight, I am in my happy place....

The weather is finally "fallish"-Tator Tot Hot Dish is in the oven-Fall scented candle is burning-Dark/Fall colored nail polish is on my nails-And I think I hear Pumpkick beer calling my name now...

Pumpkick- Candles- Nail Polish

I walked into Bath and Body Works with the plan of taking advantage of their 2/$22 candle deal+20% off coupon I had and I walked out with three candles and a fall scented lotion.  There was no possible way for me to choose only 2 candles, all of the scents were amazing!

The Tator Tot Hot Dish I made could not get any easier.  K and our friend that ate with us both raved about it and that's saying a lot!  Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 1-8 oz. container of sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 tsp. onion salt OR 1 small chopped onion
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1-32 oz bag of tator tots
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Mix together sour cream, cream of chicken soup, onion or onion salt, and cheddar cheese
  • Stir in tator tots
  • Pour into 9x13 pan
  • Pour melted butter over hot dish
  • Bake for 45 minutes
Happy (almost) Fall!

I said YES to the dress!

On Saturday, I went to look at dresses for the second time.  I went to The Wedding Shoppe after finding several on their website that I liked. The minute I met the lady who would be helping me try on dresses I could tell she was not the friendliest little peach.  She wasn't listening to what I was saying and when I showed her the dresses on THEIR website that I liked she bashed them and me. rude.  There came a point where I felt like I wanted to be done for the day and that's when it happened. Two more dresses were brought in for me to try on and the first one ended up being THE ONE.  My first thought? "You're real lucky rude woman, reeeeal lucky."

The shop had just gotten my dress in three days earlier and it was added to their Saturday Sample Sale, which means I got an AMAZING deal on a dress that was originally way over my budget.  I get to pick up the dress at the end of this month, who wants to place bets on how many times I'll try it on before the wedding?

After all was said and done my mom, sisters, niece, and I went to Dixie's for apps, dessert, and cocktails to celebrate.

Look at those sweet sunglasses my mom is wearing. She bought them without trying them on only to realize when she got home how completely ridiculous they actually looked. I say rock em'!

Happy Tuesday (friendly) Peaches!

The New Parents and Baby Mason

My heart swells just thinking about this couple and their new baby boy. Seriously, my heart might burst.

Kalie and I grew up living just a bike ride away from each other, we went to school together, and even worked together. We wore matching outfits to school, went on family trips with each other, had sleepovers every single weekend, went to sleep away camp (hatched a plan to leave early and succeeded) and were called peanut butter and jelly.  You get the point right?

Let's move onto Blake, my classmate, my friend, then Kalie's boyfriend->fiance->husband, and now sweet Mason's daddy.  Oh dear that boy, there are very few people who have made me laugh as often and as hard as Blake has.  We have had an equally close bond through the years and Kal and him as a couple make me so unbelievably happy.

When Kalie told me she was pregnant I literally did a happy dance, oh yes I did.  I will say though, I still don't feel like we are old enough to be getting married and having babies.  We are grown ups, when did that happen?

I desperately wish I had the OLD pictures of us on this computer but I don't so we will go as far back as 8 years:)  I'm probably saving you all from the sore sight of a couple of teenagers dressed alike in some sweet wind pants...a shared rain coat and cowboy hats will have to do...

Mason is the perfect mix of Kalie and Blake, I am SO in love with this little man.

Guilt Free Burritos

My typical go-to recipe when I want Mexican food is usually this one but I was feeling something a little more fresh and fewer calories.

(Side note: I despise these red plates, the first thing we're registering for is crisp white dishes. I'm thisclose to just buying some now)

Ingredients:
-Package of whole wheat tortillas in burrito size
-2 cups cooked shredded chicken (shredded cooked chicken breasts or deli section already shredded chicken will work!)
-1 can black beans-rinsed and drained
-1 cup re fried beans
-1/2 cup diced green peppers
-1/2 cup finely sliced green onions
-1 cup salsa of your choice
-1 cup cheese
This wonderful invention made chopping my onions and green pepper a lot less time consuming! Worth every penny.

Directions:
-Preheat oven at 375 degrees
-Spray non-stick spray on baking pan, set aside.
-Mix together green peppers, green onions, black beans, salsa, and chicken.
-Spread a spoonful of re fried beans on the middle of each tortilla.
-Put 2 spoonfuls of chicken mixture in tortilla, wrap in any style you like.
-Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 20 minutes.
-Optional: Top with sour cream and salsa

Serve with some Mexican rice (and a Corona) and you're ready for a mid-week Mexican fiesta!

Weekend Photo Dump

We had another busy but fun weekend.  Time seems to be flying by! We didn't have any plans for Friday night but after looking at the weather for this week we decided to go the State Fair on Friday evening.  At 90 degrees it was going to be the coolest of the days, yikes! It ended up being a beautiful night, we walked around, listened to live music, drank beer, and got our three must haves at the fair: Australian Potatoes, Cheese Curds, and Sweet Martha's Cookies.  You can literally find anything that you are craving at this fair, there's even some items you would never even dream up.   A few new items this year are Wine Glazed Deep Fried Meatloaf, Fried Pickles 'n' Chocolate, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp on a Stick. See what I mean? Bet you couldn't have dreamt up those little dreams. Not going to lie, our state fair is pretty bad ass.  I just read that it is the "largest state fair in the US by average daily attendance."  Take that!

On Saturday, I went to my friend Karissa's wedding shower.  It was a great shower and I am so excited for the wedding!  After that, my friend Becky and I decided to go to a local winery while our men were at a golf tournament.

Sunday was another busy day with a Diaper Shower, shopping with my sister, and coming home to read and RELAX.

I hope you all had a fun weekend!
